- I have an OS/2 cc:Mail Router with a V.Everything modem and 2 Sporters 28.8.
- I get many of my users calling from around the world on their Megahertz 14.4
- PC Card modems. I'm located in Costa Rica, so my lines are not the best, but
- locally I can get 33.6 connects, long distance lines are another matter. My biggest
- problem is that users call up, the modems answer with the high pitch, but don't do
- the "static like" handshaking, they just emit a long high pitch, 'til carrier is lost.
- Is there anything I can do?? I have the option of using Motorola Codex 3266 Fast
- modems instead, should I, could it be an init string problem?? Or just phone lines...
- help, please, out of 10 international calls about 7 get in...thanks,
-
