  13. I have an OS/2 cc:Mail Router with a V.Everything modem and 2 Sporters 28.8.
  14. I get many of my users calling from around the world on their Megahertz 14.4
  15. PC Card modems.  I'm located in Costa Rica, so my lines are not the best, but
  16. locally I can get 33.6 connects, long distance lines are another matter.  My biggest
  17. problem is that users call up, the modems answer with the high pitch, but don't do
  18. the "static like" handshaking, they just emit a long high pitch, 'til carrier is lost.
  19. Is there anything I can do?? I have the option of using Motorola Codex 3266 Fast
  20. modems instead, should I, could it be an init string problem?? Or just phone lines...
